Save money while wiping your butt?

Wiping your butt isnt a normal go to for saving money, but I would like to show you how it could be.  It is estimated that people spend on average almost 2 hours a week in the bathroom that means going to the bathroom and not showering, applying make up, flexing in the mirror, taking mirror selfies, ect...

Humans have used many different items to wipe from their left hands* to corn husks to newspaper*.  Today toilet paper is the most widely adopted wiping medium because it is relatively cheap and is sterile in its one time use.  Toilet paper comes in many comfort levels and layers referred to as "ply".  We all dread going into a bathroom dropping the big one and unrolling to discover 1 ply.  If you arent careful with one ply you will be wiping with your hand. Toilet paper evolved into baby wipes and actual biodegradable wipes became mainstream.

You may enjoy the refreshing wipe a flushable wipe gives, but if you have a septic tank(and many municipalities are against them) you already know you are not supposed to flush them.  Some people enjoy the feeling so much they put them in the trash.
There are a few drawbacks to these wipes:
-They are expensive.
-They can be cold.
-Disposal (In many cases you arent supposed to flush them)

Toilet paper has been the go to wipe technology for most of the civilized world with one major exception, France. Aside from being invented in France in the 17th century we dont know who exactly invented the bidet.  Bidets were thought to be a form of contraception early in its use.

The name "bidet" gives away its French origins.  "Bidet" in French means "small horse" or "pony" the idea of straddling a small basin like a small horse and using the device is how it was associated in that period.  Given the evolution of the word, could you imagine if it were made today?  It might be called the moped or some other small bike. Toilet Jr would get my vote!

Early bidets were standalone units beside the toilet that required entirely separate plumbing and drains.  They were eliminated in most cases due to cost, and in some cases they were eliminated because without proper cleaning they could harbor bacteria.

Today, however, bidets can be installed to existing toilet seats and branch off of nearby sink hot and cold water.  These type of devices werent patented until the 1920's by John Kellog who called it the "anal douche".  The Japanese picked up on the seat mounted device in the 1980's and added all sorts of electronic features ranging from water and seat heaters to night lights. Today a company called TUSHY is trying to get the bidet to become mainstream in the US.

LANGUAGE WARNING(clean version below):

CLEAN VERSION:

A toilet seat mounted bidet can save you money by ELIMINATING the need for flushable wipes AND/OR reducing the amount of toilet paper you need to use. Because lets face it.  We have all had those times when it feels like you have to use half a roll to get yourself clean.
Also, if you want to remove toilet paper almost completely there are bidet towels made from sustainable bamboo that you use to pat dry after you are done.

Do you think you will save money on your tushy with TUSHY?

What were the books from "The Equalizer"?

The 2014 movie The Equalizer(if you havent watched it you can watch it at the link) was built around the idea that Washington was a closet hitman, and he had this odd fascination with reading books to honor the memory of his dead wife.  The books  he reads are used to provide a subtext to the movie.  What would Denzel do?

The first book that is introduced is The Old Man and the SeaWashington gives a brief synopsis and uses the book to explain life to the hooker he rescues that is central to the story.

The next book is Don Quixote. While the book is not explicitly mentioned or shown, the overview he tells the hooker makes it pretty obvious.

The final book is Invisible Man. This book is interesting because it is shown at the very end of the movie.  At first you might not think about the book because the title sorta fits with Washington's persona.  He was essentially the invisible or underestimated man throughout the story.   But when you look at that book it "chronicles the travels of its narrator, a young, nameless black man, as he moves through the hellish levels of American intolerance and cultural blindness."  The current affairs of the time were all about race with Obama recently winning the 2012 election and a few other notable events going on throughout the country.  It makes the inclusion of the book even more poignant.

Be on the lookout for the books from the upcoming The Equalizer 2. EQ2 starts off with Washington reading a book on a train.  I wonder what significance the books in EQ2 will have for the story and for commentary on current events.

What books are in The Equalizer 2?

The invisible gorilla and eat your carrots from Gringo

If you watched Gringo, a video by Amazon Studios, then you saw the constant references to gorillas Harry ironically points out in the movie. If you havent watched it you can watch it free here. As you may have guessed the references are from real world studies.

The first one is the carrots and bananas experiment.  Richard(Ironic name, huh) tells Harry about a book he read it in.   The movie references a book titled Dear Darwin: Experiments with Apes and Man.  The experiment and book may be real, but I was unable to find any info on the book. Making a fake book cover  is pretty simple.  However, a very real book on his shelf in the scene where he displays the Dear Darwin book was The Art Of War.  The Art Of War was probably displayed to show he was a strategic businessman.  I like to provide visuals so I found a similar experiment with cucumbers and grapes. The parallel should be apparent. The short video is actually kind of funny.

The video is about unequal pay. Obviously the sweetness of a grape is of more value to a monkey than the taste of a cucumber.  The parallel can be seen in the example from the movie about the banana and the carrot which is referenced at the end.  In the movie this example may have been substituted for continuity, simplicity and that neat ending.  Continuity of the use of gorillas sets Harry up to say the hilarious line(Im sure you were thinking), "Why is everyone talking about Gorillas!?"

Later on his wife Bonnie tells him a story about a gorilla experiment involving a ball.  I was able to find a video on this, and spotting the gorilla isn't as tricky as you may have thought. Counting the passes is a bit more tricky.  How did you do?

The final allusion is an outlier about a bear, and is similar to an old tale about a village and a tiger.  The kids in the village find a baby tiger and raise it.  The village elder warns them that the tiger should not be kept as a pet.  The people ignore the elders warnings.  A child gets injured and starts bleeding. The tiger licks the wound and the taste of blood sends him on a killing spree wiping out the village.  The bear allusion is a truncated version of that story.

Expedition Unknown gear list

Here is a gear list for Expedition Unknown Season 5.  Season 5 covers Josh Gates' on his treasure hunting of Vikings, Nazis, Egypt, and many episodes in Central America(Mormons will like 10 and 11)  As much of the gear was identified as was possible from his gear to wardrobe.
His boots appeared to change frequently and there wasn't much focus on them. If you happen to recognize them from a given episode be sure to leave a message so the list can be updated.

PERSISTENT GEAR

The persistent gear used throughout the season involves stuff he is typically wearing or packs with him. The specific notable gear used in particular episodes will be broken down by episode.

His necklace is just an old necklace he got from England as a child. It is his travel superstition and as he calls it his "travel necklace"(2min YT link of Gates telling about it).

The wrist beads he wears in just about every episode.
His headlamp is a standard AAA battery headlamp buy a quality manufacturer.
He carries a $100 single blade folding pocket knife when he travels.  I dont recommend such an expensive single use knife for travel.
He recommends this Travel Adapter that he uses.
He carries a large Moleskin Notebook.
He carries these just in case.
His basic meds are Cipro antibiotics for bad food and water, Z-pak antibiotic for head and lungs and Pepto-bismol chewables.
His iconic "Crusher" hat.

EPISODE 10/11

Flashlight is used to illuminate the hole they drill in the structure after they find a void with GPR.

He seems to have the same style of shirt in various colors.

He seems to have the same style of pants in various colors.

He wore these the entire time he was in the jungle for these two episodes.

EPISODE 12

The device he used to pinpoint the Nazi coin hit he got with the metal detector.

Flashlight  is used to illuminate the basement area and dish storage room.

Misc gear later seasons.

Season 10

Vest is by Fjällräven "Reporter lite vest" but it is discontinued so sizes and color are limited.

Vest alternatives

Safari

Destination Truth

Main Promo Jacket
It appears to be just a generic "military style" jacket, but not from the actual military.

I was able to find 2 great alternatives.

Option 2 by Levis

Will you fight for independence?

It is actually a coincidence that this article is coming out on July 4th, but I couldn't pick a better time for it to coincide with.  The significance of  7.4.1776 should be more than cookouts and fireworks.    The US is the way it is because of its freedoms.  How people can somehow seek to change what it is, and still expect it to remain successful is puzzling. Around the world citizens are starting to fight back against the oppressing external forces that are against their way of life.
Here are just a few.

UNITED STATES

The US is beginning to feel the squeeze of oppression that it has been insulated from for a long time.  As tensions grow, the ones seeking change are the ones that should be questioned not the ones who seek to keep the status quo or freedom.  All of the concessions that the seekers of change are working toward directly impact freedom, and it should scare you.

SOUTH AFRICA

South Africa is being hit hard by an agenda currently starting to take rise in the US.  Identity politics and income inequality are the basis for the murdering of white farmers in South Africa.  The problem is private property ownership is being abolished and "redistributed" to people based on race.  John Adams warned us about this in 1787 in his Defence of the Constitutions of the Government of the United States.
"Debts would be abolished first; Taxes laid heavy on the rich, and not at all o the others; and at at last a downright equal division of everything be demanded, and voted."
Adams' quote should scare you because it is exactly what leftist groups like Antifa and BLM are advocating for along with gun control.  Despite where the argument is misdirected, guns are a constitutional right(in the US) in order to prevent an unjust government.

MEXICO

Mexico has its own reasons for armed resistance.  Currently the resistance in Mexico is fragmented and doesnt really have a unifying symbol or flag.  Drug cartels are running many of the rural areas.  Local government officials from the cops up to the mayors are corrupt.  Cartels carry out killings with no consequences in many areas.  One source puts murder prosecution down as low as 10%.
The people of Mexico have had enough.  Their lives and livelihoods are being taken from them.  Local businessmen are standing up militias armed by mercenaries and volunteers to take back control from the cartels.
Cartels are international terrorist that are affecting the US in the form of large drug funded gangs.

EASTERN BLOC

The eastern bloc nations of the former USSR(Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Romania, ect) are extremely vigilant against oppressive governments.  It is no coincidence they are defensive when it comes to Islamic immigration.  Islam is more than a religion.  Islam is an oppressive political ideology and not a religion.  Bulgaria has a group called BNO Shipka. They are associated with a wider group called Knights Templar International.  Hungary is out spoken as a country against Islamic immigration and openly and actively invites disenfranchised Europeans to take refuge in its Christian country.
Illegal immigration is a forced political paradigm shift from freedom to a strict adherence to Sharia Law.  Sharia Law should be opposed on every front.  It is antithetical to established law in the US. Legal immigration is at the will of the government, and is dependent on immigrants willingness to assimilate US values.  If US values are antithetical to immigrants values then why do they want to come here?

SYRIA

Syria has been a proxy war for some time.  Fighters from all over the globe are converging on Syria to fight on both sides.  Some under the banner of governments in coalitions and others as independent freedom fighters.  The fight here is for the political ideology of oppression that is Islam. Syria is already Islamic, but for some that is not good enough.  Daesh(ISIS) is the vehicle for terrorism and oppressive government.
Syria is what will happen when the war comes to the US.  The US has been insulated by the wisdom of the founding fathers and the design of the Constitution.  The Constitution is slowly being eroded. Not only must the Constitution be protected from foreign enemies, but it also must be protected from domestic enemies seeking to corrupt it from within.

UKRAINE

Ukraine had the unique experience of being invaded by a foreign country for a mere land grab.  Today that is largely unheard of.  Russia made a move into Ukraine and Ukraine's military was unready for the event.  Seeing the government was unable to protect them from the Russians, the people formed volunteer militias to fight. The Ukrainian Insurgent Army initially activated in WW2 under the flag above.  It has recently been activated under the same flag fighting the same ideal. The acting leader of the country was wise enough to see this force and utilize it in preservation of the country.  The documentary places a diabolical spin on the milita, but Vice is pretty far left. The reporter is visibly under the influence of drugs for most of the filming.
We look to China and their claims on Taiwan and the small islands to its south that it keeps trying to arm.  Korea has cooled down for the moment, but who knows how that will evolve.  Our allies could drag us into a war.  It is nice being isolated by vast oceans, but Hawaii and Guam are geographically vulnerable.  The contiguous states are not out of reach with current technology.  What if that war comes to the US?

These current events should be a warning to those who have freedom and are all to familiar to those who have lost it.  There WILL come a time that you will have to stop talking and start fighting for it.  Are you willing? How far will you let it get? It is a tough decision to make.  The oppressors count on the restraint of the people to slowly get used to their rights being eroded.  Be vigilant.
"The best prophet of the future is the past." -Lord Byron

**2019 Update**

The fight for Freedom rages on all over the globe.

France started a Yellow Vest movement to resist the burdensome taxation brought about by taxes to restrict fuel sales.  The protest quickly evolved to a broader taking back of basic freedoms the state had stolen from the people.

Hong Kong started protest to prevent the encroachment of the ChiComms.  Beijing is prepping to push in and subdue the protesters while they wave AMERICAN flags and sing the anthem of the US. The global standard of freedom.  It is amazing how the Democratic party can say the US and oppressive nation.

An easy way to save money on stuff you buy anyway.

We are back with another legit money saving method.  It is simple and uses tricks that online merchants like drop shippers(drop shippers are why you should be careful what you buy on Amazon and Ebay) use to widen their profit margins.  We have gathered their tricks to show you how to save money.  One of the best ideas is some of these ways can be used with coupons.  So if you coupon then this is something you need to be doing.  Check out some useful examples below.  The system integrates with your existing budget!
Imagine saving literally up to 10% shopping at Walmart buying things you need like groceries and appliances you would buy anyway. Imagine an average household spends $400 a month on groceries.  A minimum of 7% savings at Walmart just buying groceries would save you $28 a month!

Kohls I've seen over 13%.  Imagine the discounts available in store at Kohls then saving an EXTRA 13%.  The concept works at tons of different retailers from electronics to power tool stores.

It is completely possible for both examples and many more with just a few simple steps. You dont have to do all of them.  You can do each on its own in whatever combination you are comfortable or combine them together for double digit saving percentages.  We are interested to see how high your percentages go.  Be sure to drop a post on the FB page.

For a simple example we are going to use Walmart buying groceries which is easily the best application for this system.

CASH BACK CREDIT CARDS

The first step that everyone should be doing is a cash back credit card.  People have a unhealthy fear of credit cards.  If used properly you can get 1% cash back from things like rent, power, water, phone, cable, ect. If you pay those mandatory bills with credit cards then you are looking at a free 1%.  This is a simple and easy step. You use the card to pay for everything you would pay for directly out of your bank account, you have a transaction protection and 1% back in your pocket. You pay the credit card balance at the end of the month, and you dont pay interest. It is super easy and super effective. We are not going to recommend any particular cards most banks have options and in today's market they are pretty straight forward and have no annual fees.
So we are saving 1% on all our groceries at Walmart. What else can we do?

GIFT CARDS

I know. How will a gift card save me money on groceries.  Easy a website called Gift Card Granny(Using this link will give XcerptShow.com readers(you) 100 points to start off). Do yourself a favor and click that link and take(literally) 2 minutes to sign up and verify your email.  You dont have to add a credit card at this point, but you will be when you see how it works.  GCG sells gift cards of varying amounts for between 1-25% off.  The question is how?
Sometimes people need cash and get gift cards as gifts or prizes(companies love to give away gift cards).  People sell gift cards to this site and the site resells the cards to you.  You will often times see pawn shops doing the same thing.  It is easy money for them.
The various stores have differing rates. Currently Walmart is 4%, Kohls is 12%, Home Depot(remodel?) is 3% Target is 9% and Dunkin Donuts was 22%!
Remember you are going to use your cash back credit card to buy the gift cards and that is going to add 1% as well.  Not only that, but GCG has a rewards program that gives you point towards free gift cards. The more you buy the more you save!  The best part is these are products you are going to buy anyway. You dont have to make a special budget to buy food.  Food is naturally built into budgets.
So we got 1% from the cash back credit card + 4% for Walmart gift cards(in store) and gaining points for each dollar spent at GCG.  What else can we do?

REFERRAL SITES

There are many sites like this but the best is a website called SwagBucks(Using this link will give XcerptShow.com readers(you) free points to start off!) that gives up to 4% cash back just for shopping thru their portal at Walmart(as an example) which they have exclusively at the moment.  And remember we are just buying groceries. What about when you have to buy other things at Walmart?  The savings just keep stacking up.
So we got 1% from the cash back credit card + 4% for Walmart gift cards and gaining points for each dollar spent at SB. AND an additional 2%(or 4% if you buy a lot and decide to upgrade).
There we have a total of  7% saved on groceries at Walmart. With our first example of $400 per month that is $28 per month saved.  Imagine Christmas shopping, clothes at Kohls, tools at Home Depot and other places you spend money. Plus I have a bonus tip below!

BONUS: LINK SITES

If you have checked out one of our previous posts you will see referral sites used to generate completely FREE gift cards based on watching ads or using a browsing service.  If you want to know more about that click the link above.  Also, the links provided in that article will give you bonus points.  Sign up now, thank me later.  You can do that by itself. It is a slow process, but it definitely works.  I have been doing it for MANY years and it works great. I can make about $25-30 a month just using the website without making any purchases.

For an extra bonus, If you start using Walmart Grocery you can get $10 off of your first order.

Thanks for checking the article out.  Get out there and start saving!
