What were the books in "Shot Caller"

The movie Shot Caller was an interesting look into the inner workings of the psychology of prison.  Near the end the main character meets The Beast.  He mentions specifically the book The Human Animal and says he would send over some books on psychology.  The list isnt your typical Oprah book club reading list.  These books are to help aid people to convince others to do anything for them to include law breaking and killing all in the pursuit of power.

One big things about prison is there is plenty of time to read.  A lot of these inmates will read anything and everything in print.  They really like book clubs.  Books get passed around and read over and over again.  I was curious what books the movie would feature in this reading list.  The only one they made obvious was the one mentioned by "The Beast".  The others were briefly flashed on screen shown here.

Here is a free list of all identified books in the image from the movie.

Holy Bible
The Human Animal - Desmond Morris
Aztec Revenge - Gary Jennings
The Book of Five Rings - Miyamoto Muashi
The Art of War - Sun Tzu
Nietzsche
Of Mind and Matter
Stephen Coontz  -Recreational reading
Hemingway - Recreational reading
The Prince - Niccolo Machiavelli

It is interesting that some books are not here.  That could be due to the fact that prisons restrict certain works.  They did consult some inmates for insights on prison life so this list is probably fairly accurate.

The difference of white(in this case) reading lists and black reading list is interesting.  Had this been a movie based on blacks the reading list would have been slightly different.  What is interesting is what is the same.  Sun Tzu is always on the reading lists of people looking to make power moves.  It also shows the mutual respect of the ancient Chinese.

Example:
Holy Bible would most likely be the Quran

Other psychology and power books:
48 Laws of Power - Robert Greene

Fun Facts:

In the movie you will find out why inmates call the butt the "prison purse".  Aside from what is placed in there in the movie, I have heard accounts of shampoo bottles, deodorants, cellphones and many other things you might find in a womans purse.
