After tracking the rumor for over a week on twitter, multiple news sources are reporting an outbreak of syphilis. Up to 9 actors are infected after an actor hid the fact that he was infected. There is speculation that the infection may have come from Europe.
A voluntary shutdown was issued until testing could be completed and treatment issued. Some studios are requiring a shot prior to all new shoots. This has caused an uproar amongst actors due to the report that it can affect the birth control in women. @thereallisaann(verified account) said, " I received a text that said if I didn't do the SHOT 10 days before my shoot for Manwin will be cancelled" In reference to the shot notification she said, "So wait...my test is clean... I have always stayed on my test with syphilis and I am being FORCED to take a shot? Just because?!" She continues on saying, "This is this shady is shit I have ever seen."
When asked about how recent events would affect condom use, @avaaddams said, " this was about a person forging a test... plus you can still catch syphilis with condoms due to location a rash or sore...like herpes. I'm more in favor of more stringent testing and not accepting paper copies! Thats how this asshole was able to work."
LA county will hold a vote on condom use in the porn industry in November.
